Josef Kihlberg AB is the parent company of a group with a strong international character. Today we are part of the ITW Group (Illinois Tool Works Inc) after a group aquisition in October 2006. Josef Kihlberg AB with MEZGER Heftsysteme GmbH form the Stapling System Division of ORGAPACK Strapex Group.

Josef Kihlberg AB, which dates back to the 19th century, currently has 80 employees. We develop, manufacture and market world-leading tools and staples for industrial stapling and transportation packaging.

An important part of the Josef Kihlberg strategy is to participate in the entire process ourselves, i.e. development, manufacture and marketing of our products.

The business concept is formulated thus:
Josef Kihlberg shall be a leading supplier of stapling tools and staples for professional use, mainly in Europe and North America.


History - Josef Kihlberg

Company history
It all began in 1841 when alderman Synnergren started his hardware store.

1907The name was changed to "Kihlberg&Källmark".
1918Josef Kihlberg took over the business.
1943Staple- and stapler production started.
1968Hjo hardware store was closed.
1970Own sales company started in Finland.
1976Josef Kihlberg's grandson Ove Larsson became the company owner.
1981Sjötofta Wire Mill was purchased.
1984New sales companies in the U.S. and Norway were established.
1985Haubold-Airfix GmbH was acquired and the name changed to Haubold-Kihlberg GmbH.
1992Wholly owned sales company, Haubold-Embrag, was established in Switzerland and joint ownership was arranged with an Austrain sales company, Heftpohl GmbH.
1997Air-Hammer s.r.o. in the Czech Republic was established.
1998Josef Kihlberg acquired British Ind. Fastening, BIF, from Lawtons Ltd. Started trading as Josef Kihlberg Ltd in January 2000.
2006JK Group joins ITW in October 2006.
